According to Datassential, loaded fries have seen a 54% growth on menus over the past four years and a 15% growth in the past year. Although consumers have been cooking at home more since the start of the pandemic, fries remain an away-from-home treat as consumers rely on restaurants to make fries for them.
To help drive patrons back to their restaurant, operators continue to innovate with enticing, craveable fry flavors. Among the top trending fry terms and ingredients, ‘American Comfort’ is one of the hottest categories – this includes ingredients and flavors like BBQ, pulled pork, buffalo, bacon, cheddar, and ranch1. In parallel with this trend, Twin Peaks Restaurants, one of the top casual-dining sports bars and restaurants in the nation, will be launching four new potato menu items in April.
According to Chef Alex Sadowsky, Concept Chef at Twin Peaks, the Texas-based chain with over 80 locations in the U.S., will launch four new loaded fry dishes on its menu. On April 27, 2021, diners can expect to see Classic Loaded Fries, Hickory Smoked Pulled Pork Loaded Fries, Crispy Buffalo Chicken Loaded Fries, and Brisket Chili Loaded Fries on Twin Peaks’ menus. Not only are these loaded fries on-trend, but they also feature potatoes at the center of the plate. This is especially important in the casual-dining space as fries are typically only found as a simple side dish.
According to Technomic’s 2020 Top 500 Chain Restaurant Report, Twin Peaks Restaurants U.S. sales grew 2.6% in 2019, and the Sports Bar category experienced a growth of 1.2% in 2019.
